The dog days of summer
When you put pictures on wordpress, it takes up crazy amounts of space so I thought I would put a slideshow in instead. That barely takes up any memory at all.
They are pictures of the last few days at our house. It’s been really great weather, a little chilly on Saturday but actually quite nice. We went to a little country type wedding reception. They had gotten married at the justice of the peace and had a limited amount of friends and family over to celebrate. Everyone brought some food and it was just a nice day altogether. I thought it was quite sweet and felt honored to be invited.
On our way back home we stopped to get the peanut some Chik-Fil-A and there was a pet store right by. Michael wanted to go look at the dogs, just in case. He feels like Ellie has been lonely since the other dog ran away and my dad’s dog (who we had been watching the week before) left. So, I got suckered into taking this dog. He is actually a sweet dog, between one and two years old, loves the peanut like crazy! Unfortunately he’s kind of gangly and knocks her on her tooshy all the time. He also enjoys snacking on her toys. The real issue comes though with the fact that he won’t leave our chickens alone. I mean this guy is obsessed with them. And, he’s teaching Ellie to do the same. So, he may be going back from whence he came…we’ll see.
Yesterday we had a church picnic, which was really nice. I love those times of fellowship where everyone is relaxed and just hanging out. I made one delicious apple pie too. I always do that for the fall picnic. So, so good!
Today the peanut and I went to the library for storytime. That’s always a nice time for us to get to know other kids and get some good reading in.
Tonight I’ve got steering committee meeting for MOPS. I’ll be glad to jump right into it and get to know some of the girls better. It should be fun!
I hope you are all doing good as well!
God bless you today.

I just love a good slideshow…you have some beautiful pictures!!
We’ve had a great weekend, too- the weather has been wonderful and I just wish it would stay this way! What adorable pics!!
Steph
Beautiful
I enjoyed catching up on your posts, too! (I’ve been a bit scarce lately.) You have a great attitude.
another puppy….how fun…and brave of you! i feel bad for mugho some days at our house…poor guy gets so much less attention now that kate is here! you’ve got some great pics in your collage…sounds like things are going well around your house!
I love the slideshow! She is absolutely just adorable! And Jake is cute too.
New dogs are always fun for the moment until you realize their personalities. Pep (our GSP) was really out of control when we got her but she slowly learned the routine around the Singletary house and now is a absolute perfect fit.
Thanks for sharing the slideshow! The pie looks yummy!
Jes
P.S. I’m actually 30 ( 5 months for 31) and have never used a porta potty. LOL… I loved your comment…
I love your slideshow. She sure is a cutiepie.
You can see more photos this way. You can also use Photobucket to post your pictures to save memory.
Your new puppy is so cute. Is it a beagle? Too cute.
Homemade apple pie! Mmmmmmm….especially at a picnic.
Things are cooling off a bit here, and we had a very nice weekend.
Take care,
Christine
We are like sisters…only you’re the cute one! I’m on the steering team for our MOPS group here…although we call it Mothering Matters and we split off from MOPS to have more freedom of what we cover and such. We love it, have mentor women with each group. I think they make the difference.
Our Chick Fil A is right next to a Pet Store too and they had strays the last time we went to look at Hampsters. Almost came home with a dog.
Although it will be a while before I go back to Chick Fil A. (did you see my post on our night there?) Allen did work for them yesterday and the manager asked if we were coming back for superhero’s night….aaaaa…NO.
Wow, that brought back some memories…I was on the steering committee for a MOPS group…back in the day…lol. Seems like just yesterday my little girlie was a preschooler…now she’s in 4th grade. Dang. Then you have to talk about how soon it will be Christmas!! Stop it!! Lol.
